Zack Veen, Drew Romo Among Rockies 22 Non-Roster Spring Invitees

The Rockies announced Friday the invitation to 22 non-roster invitees for spring training.

Eight of the 22 are additions from other organizations: Fernando Abad (Seattle), Harold Castro (Detroit), Jeff Criswell (Oakland), Matt Koch (Seattle), Josh Rogers (Miami), Cole Tucker (Arizona), Phillips Valdéz (Seattle) and T.J. Zeuch (Cincinnati).

 

Abad (6.169), Castro (3.141), Valdéz (2.044), Tucker (2.029), Rogers (1.104), Koch (1.029) and Zeuch (0.123) have all appeared in the Major Leagues. Ty Blach (3.007) and Logan Allen (1.034), who are returning members of the Rockies organization, have also logged Major League service time.

 

In total, 14 non-roster invitees finished the 2022 season in the Rockies organization, with Blach concluding his campaign on the Rockies active roster. A Denver native and a graduate of Regis Jesuit High School, Blach is attending his second Spring Training with the Rockies.

 

Five non-roster invitees wrapped up the 2022 season with Triple-A Albuquerque:  Allen, Karl Kauffmann, Willie MacIver, Coco Montes and Jonathan Morales.

 

Five finished the season with Double-A Hartford: Hunter Goodman, Stephen Jones, Grant Lavigne, Zac Veen and Douglas County High School graduate (Castle Rock, Colo.) Case Williams.

 

Ronaiker Palma and Drew Romo concluded their 2022 campaign with High-A Spokane, while Braxton Fulford spent his entire season with Single-A Fresno.

 

Two non-roster invitees rank in MLB.com’s top 100 prospects list with Veen and Romo ranking 27th and 84th overall respectively.
