COLORADO ROCKIES POSTGAME NOTES

 

— With their loss the Rockies have yet to win consecutive games this season, their longest drought to begin a season in franchise history.

— The longest single-season streak in franchise history was a 35-game stretch in May/June, 2022.

— With the loss, the Rockies can only split the four-game set with the Padres and have not won a series this season.

— In 2023, Colorado did not notch its first series win until the eighth series of the season (April 24-26 at Cleveland), the longest stretch to begin a season without a series win in franchise history.

— Starting pitcher Ty Blach (5.0,5,4,4,2,0) took the loss in his first start of the season, his second game overall in the Majors in 2024.

— Blach has pitched at least five innings in seven of his last eight starts dating back to Aug. 27, 2023.

3B Ryan McMahon (1-3, R, HR, RBI, BB) connected on his third home run of the season, a 444 foot shot that is the Rockies longest home run of the season.

— McMahon commited his fifth error of the season. He did not commit No. 5 last season iunly June 27.

— CF Brenton Doyle (1-for-4) has hit safely in seven of his last eight games, a .357 average (10-for-28) over that span.

— C Elias Diaz (2-4, R, HR, RBI) recorded his second home run of the season and first since March 29, a span of 19 homerless games.

— Diaz threw out two would-be base stealers, the seventh time in his career catching multiple baserunners (last: Aug. 11, 2023 at Los Angeles-NL).

— RHP Anthony Monlia allowed one run and struck out one in three innings in his second consecutive scoreless appearance.

— Molina has allowed one earned run in his last seven innings.

— The Padres held the Rockies’ offense to two runs and five hits in their 5-2 victory.

— It was San Diego’s sixth game of the season allowing two runs or fewer (last: April 22 at Colorado, one run).

— The Padres recorded their 11th quality start this season (last: April 22 at Colorado).

— Starting pitcher Matt Waldron (6.0,4,1,1,3,5) recorded his first quality start of the season and the second of his career (also: Sept. 27, 2023 at San Francisco).
