Take Note: Blackmon Back At the Top of Rockies Lineup Sunday

— Charlie Blackmon hit leadoff for the second game in a row. With Sam Hilliard, Rio Ruiz, Dom Nunez and Austin Gomber hitting 6-7-8-9, after his first at-bat, Blackmon will be the fifth consecutive left-handed batter Padres pitching will be face.

— Yonathan Daza, who who had been sidelined for COVID protocol, was activated on the big-league roster prior to Sunday’s game. Right-handed pitcher José Mujica was optioned to Triple-A Albuquerque to create roster space for Daza.

— The Rockies were 7-8 on the road in July, which is one more win than they had in the first two months of the season combined when they were 6-31 in road games,

— Saturday’s 5-3 victory featured home runs by infielder Brendan Rodgers, catcher Elias Diaz and starting pitcher German Marquez. It was Marquez’s second career home run — first off a pitcher. He hit one off Arizona infielder Daniel Descalso at Coors Field on July 11, 2018.

— Blackmon went into Sunday hitting .352 since the All-Star Break, and having hit .310 in the month of July.

— Brendan Rodgers went into Sunday hitting .324 with a triple and four home runs in a career-best eight-game hitting streak.

— Rockies went into Sunday ranked fourth in MLB with 62 stolen bases, and fourth in the NL with a 79.5 percent stolen base percentage (62 of 78 attempts).
