Sunday Game Notes: Rockies Series Final At Diamondbacks

The Rockies conclude a four-game visit to Arizona. They will fly to Chicago after the game, and open a three-game series against the Chicago Cubs on Monday.

— Ryan Feltner will make his first start of the regular season in Sunday’s finale against Arizona.

— Feltner compiled a 1.42 ERA in 12 2/3 innings of spring training worked. He issued six walks and struck out seven. Five of his walks came in a March 4 relief appearances against the Giants,. He allowed two runs in 12 2/3 innings in his final three spring starts, striking out 15 and walking three.

— Feltner is 0-2 with an 11.57 ERA in two career appearances against the Diamondbacks. He worked seven innings, allowing 10 runs, nine earned, on 11 hits, walking six and striking out six. Both appearances were at Coors Field.

— The Rockies go into Sunday’s game having one win in three games, claiming a 9-4 victory against the Diamondbacks on Saturday. They scored five runs in the fifth, taking a 7-3 lead with a five-run fifth, marking their first lead of the season.

— Ryan McMahon has two hits in each of his first three games, going 6-for-10 with a double, two RBI, two walks and no strikeouts.

— Ezquiel Tovar delivered the 17th home run of his career — his first this season — on Saturday.

— The Rockies will open a three-game series at Chicago against the Cubs on Monday with a 12:20 p.m., first pitch (Mountain Time). They will follow that with back-to-back games that will start at 5:40 p.m., MT.

— The Rockies rotation for the series against the Cubs will feature Dakota Hudson in a 12:20 Mountain Time first pitch on Monday, and LHP Kyle Freeland (0-1, 38.57) on Tuesday and RHP Cal Quantrill (0-1, 9.00) Wednesday in 5:40 p.m., MT matchups.

— Cubs will start lefthander Shota Imanaga in the series opener.

— OF Charlie Blackmon is 3-for-11 in the first three games of the seasons, having gone 2-for-5 with a run scored, double, two RBI and stolen base on Saturday.

— 1B/OF Kris Bryant is hitless in 10 games to open the season, drawing one walk and striking out seven times,.

— C Elias Diaz has opened the season going 3-for-11 (.273) with two runs scored, a home run and RBI in the visit to Arizona.

— Brenton Doyle has opened the season going 3-for-9 in Arizona with three runs scored, a home run, two RBI, a walk and four strikeouts.

— INF Ryan McMalon is 6-for-10 in the season opening series with a double, two RBI and two walks.
