CHICAGO — Louisville Slugger, the Official Bat of Major League Baseball®, announced American League and National League finalists for the 2023 Silver Slugger Awards℠ Thursday. Winners are determined by MLB managers and coaches who vote for players at each position in their respective leagues.

The finalists named here reflect the leading contenders at each position based on MLB managers’ and coaches’ votes:

Silver Slugger Award positional winners are decided by by MLB managers and coaches who vote for the players they determine to be the best offensive producers at each position in the American and National Leagues.

Each team receives four (4) votes; the manager and three coaches of their choice. Votes are based on a combination of offensive statistics including OPS, OPS+, Home Runs, RBI, Batting Average, Total Bases and Runs as well as the managers’ and coaches’ general impressions of a player’s overall offensive value. The accounting firm of Cherry Bekaert Advisory LLC verifies tabulation of balloting.

NEW TEAM AWARD FINALISTS

For the first time, Silver Slugger Awards will be presented to the best offensive team in both the American and National leagues in 2023. Winners will be determined by a combination of team offensive statistics and a vote of MLB fans who cast ballots for finalists via MLB.com between Sept. 25 and Oct. 1.

All Silver Slugger Award winners will be announced on MLB Network in a one-hour telecast at 6 p.m. ET on Nov. 9. This is the 15th consecutive year MLB Network will have the exclusive announcement of Silver Slugger Award winners.
