Rockies won 6-5 at Milwaukee.

THE ROCKIES are 2-0, the fifth best start in franchise history — yes the fifth. The Rockies were 4-0 in 1995 and 2015. They won their first three games in 2002 and 2005. The worst start in Brewers history was a six-game losing streak to open the 2003 season.

ROCKIES BULLPEN has been a blessing in the first two games. Using five relievers each in the first two games, manager Bud Black has seen his relievers pitch 8 1/3 shutout innings, giving up two hits and five walks while striking out 13. Greg Holland, coming back from Tommy John surgery, is 2-for-2 in saves.

TOP THREE IN the lineup  — Charlie Blackmon, DJ LeMahieu and Carlos Gonzalez — are a combined 4-for-26 in the first two games. The rest of the lineup has gone 19-for-42.

MEMORIES for the Brewers and their fans in seeing former Brewers Gerardo Parra and Mark Reynolds in the visiting dugout. Both of them are one-time Brewers. They have combined in the first three games to get nine hits, score three runs and driven in eight runs.

BRIGHT MOMENT for RHP Chad Bettis, on the disabled list while he undergoes treatment for cancer in his lymph glands. It is believed to be the residual from testicle cancer, for which Bettis was treated in December. His wife gave birth to the couples first child last week, a daughter Everliegh Rae.

Yeah, that’s right. I almost started a motorcycle gang in Milwaukee. That is if you can call two people a gang. Milwaukee is home to the Harley Davidson Museum. When I worked on the Rockies television broadcast I used to have a segment called Tom on the Town. It usually involved me dragging my producer Tavis Strand around to different locations and forcing him to do things he really didn’t want to do. Joining my gang in Milwaukee is one of those examples. So in honor of the Rockies playing in Milwaukee, I thought I’d take you on a little walk down memory lane.
