The Rockies open a three-game series against the Cardinals at Busch Stadium Monday night. It’s not the best of places for the Rockies. They swept a four-game series in the current Busch Stadium in 2009, but have lost the 11 other series in that ballpark, including being swept in a four-game series in 2010, and swept in three-game series in 2006 and 2014.They are 41-57 in the park since it opened in 2006 after going 29-29 in the previous Bush Stadium from 1993-2005.
The Rockies won two of three from the Cardinals at Coors Field in late May. They have won the season series from the Cardinals in only seven of the previous 24 years, most recently taking six of seven in 2009. They are 94-105 all-time against the Cardinals.
The Rockies went into Sunday having won five of their last six games this season, tied with the Diamondbacks for the top spot in the NL wild-card race, 5 ½ games ahead of the Cubs. The Cardinals have lost four of five games, four games below .500 and in fourth place in the NL Central.
