After stops in Baltimore and New York, Justin Turner got his chance to return home in 2014 when he singed as a free agent with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Born in Long Beach, California, Turner grew up in Southern California and played college ball at Cal State Fullerton. Used mainly as a roll player in his first few years in the league, it wasn’t until he signed with the Dodgers that he became regular in the lineup. Last season at age 31 he played in a personal best 151 games.
This year he is making a run at his best season ever at the plate. The third baseman is batting .387 which is best in the majors among hitters with at least 200 at bats. He also has an on base percentage of .464 which is also tops in the bigs.
