For the first time since being released by the Colorado Rockies in 2015 Jhoulys Chacin will get a chance to pitch against them as he takes the mound today for the San Diego Padres.
Chacin has made 37 starts since parting was with Colorado. Four with Arizona, Five with Atlanta, 17 with the Los Angeles Angels and then 11 this season with San Diego. None have come against the team he broke into the majors with until today.
Chacin is 4-4 this season with a 5.77 ERA. He has only picked up one win in his last five starts. His last two outings have been particularly rough going a combined five innings while giving up 16 hits and 10 earned runs.
