Howser Was an Impact Man & Manager

The impact of Dick Howser hasn’t been forgotten even 30 years after his death. Hall of Famer George Brett remembers those final days. Rockies manager Bud Black even wears No. 10 this year in memory of his former manager.

Howser was that confident, but not overbearing, manager. He knew how to win, and he wasn’t intimidated. He is the guy who walked away from the Yankees and wouldn’t let George Steinbrenner lure him back.

He, however, couldn’t win the battle with brain cancer.
