Rockies travel to Seattle for a two-game inter-league series with the Mariners, who just completed a two-game sweep of the Rockies at Coors Field. The Rockies won 2 of 3 at Safeco Field a year ago, but are 7-10 all-time in Seattle and 15-21 overall against the Mariners.
Kyle Seager was particularly challenging for Rockies pitchers in the two games at Coors Field. 4-for-10 with six RBI. HE was 1-for-5 with a two-run double in Monday’s 6-5 Mariners victory, and 3-for-5 with four RBI, a home run, double and three runs scored in the 10-3 Mariners victory on Tuesday.
Beleaguered Mariners bullpen allowed just one run in eight innings of work int he two games. Rockies second baeman D.J. LeMahieu drove in all three Rockies runs on Tuesday, equaling his career high for RBI.
Thursday: Antonio Senzatela (7-1, 3.19) for the Rockies vs. James Paxton (3-0, 1.43) for the Mariners. Senzatela is tied for the NL in victories and ranks sighth in the NL in ERA. Paxton is coming off the disabled list, making his first start since May 2.
Senzatela has not faced any of the hitters on the Mariners active roster.

Kyle Freeland (5-3, 3.43) will start for the Rockies against Yovani Gallardo (2-5, 5.76) for the Mariners. Freeland is 4-2 in his last seven starts with a quality start in all seven games, including a 7-3 victory at Minnesota in his inter-league debut. Gallardo, who spent eight years in the NL with the Brewers, is 0-5 with a 5.70 ERA in 11 career appearances against the Rockies, inlcuding 10 starts.
Freeland has never faced any of the current Mariners.
