Triple A Albuquerque (13-14) fell to El Paso 9-8. Jordan Patterson hit his 4th homerun of the year to open up the game and give the Isotopes a 2-0 lead in the first but it wouldn’t stick. The Chihuahuas came back with three runs in the bottom of the first. The game went back and fourth until El Paso scored the go ahead run in the 8th.
Ryan McMahon, who has played second base in addition to first and third this season, was selected the Double-A Eastern League Player of the Month for April. McMahon hit .375 with eight doubles, two triples, four home runs and 20 RBI with a .422 on-base percentage and .675 slugging percentage. In an April 17 game he was 5-for-7 with a triple, home run, Hartford record six RBI and three runs scored.

Right-hander Jeff Hoffman continued his push to show he is ready for the big leagues. Coming off earning PCL Pitcher of the Week honors for last week, Hoffman gave up two runs in six innings, and also singled and scored the go-ahead run on Rosell Herrara’s sacrifice fly in the fifth. Rockies prime pitching prospect Jeff Hoffman, who is with Triple-A Albuquerque, was selected the Triple-A Pacific Coast League Pitcher of the week for April 24-30.
