Rockies signed shortstop Brendan Rodgers a $5.5 million signing bonus after making him the third selection in the first round of the 2015 draft, the biggest in franchise history. Baseball America has a list of the top signing bonuses for each of the 30 big-league teams.

Rockies High-A affiliate Lancaster suffered an 8-5, 11-inning loss to Modesto in Game 2 of the Cal League Championship series, leaving the Jethawks down 2-games-to-none in the best-of-five series. Ryan McMahon was sent back to Double-A Hartford to open the 2017 season. He wasn’t there long, however. McMahon bounced back impressively from struggles a year ago, and earned a promotion to Triple-A Albuquerque. He didn’t slow down, and earned a spot on the Baseball American post-season Triple-A All-Star team.
