The Rockies return to where it all began in 2017 — at least against the same opponent. The Rockies opened the season taking three of four from the Brewers in Milwaukee. That got them off to the best start in franchise history, which lasted until they lost on Thursday.
The Rockies and D-Backs both lost on Tuesday, but they didn’t lose ground in the wild-card race. They remain five games up in the bid for the two spot. The Cardinals and Brewers the closest persurers. They also are the only two teams, other than the division leaders, D-Backs and Rockies with a winning record.
Greg Holland was back on top of his game, closing out the Rockies 3-0 victory against the Braves with his 35th save of the season, tying Huston treet (2009) and Shawn Chacon (2004) fr the second most saves by the Rockies in a single season. Jose Jimenez set the franchise record with 41 in 2002.
The Rockies open a four-game series with the Braves at Coors Field on Monday in what should be an emotional night — Chad Bettis, sidelined all season with testicular cancer, will be activated to start Game 1.
