The Rockies go into the weekend having won nine of 16 games from the Dodgers. They are one win away from what would be only the fifth winning season against the Dodgers in the Rockies 25-year existence. If the Rockies were to sweep the weekend series they would equal their most victories ever in a season against the Dodgers. They were 12-6 against the Dodgers in 2007 when the Dodgers made the only World Series appearance in franchise history.
Clayton Kershaw is scheduled to start Saturday for the Dodgers, but manager Dave Roberts said it will be more a chance to get loose and get ready for Game 1 of the NL Division Series at Dodger Stadium next Friday. The Dodgers will host the NL Wild-Card. Kershaw has had, what is for him, a struggle in September. He has suffered two of his four losses, and has an ERA higher than 2.43 for the only month this season. Kershaw is 21-7 lifetime against the Rockies, including 18-4 with a 2.21 ERA his last eight seasons, but did lose twice in five starts against the Rockies this year.

HE LOVES LA
Nolan Arenado grew up a Dodger fan, but the Dodger fans can’t be too happy with him. Arenado’s .361 batting average against the Dodgers this year is the third highest of any opponent, and he leads all players against the Dodgers with six home runs, 17 RBI, eight walks, and a .754 slugging percentage. Rockies Carlos Gonzalez and DJ LeMahieu are seventh and eighth in average against the Dodgers this season.
NOT DODGING DODGERS
Lefty Chris Rusin, the Rockies Mr. Fix It in the bullpen, has enjoyed is season against the Dodgers. He is one of eight pitchers with two or more wins against the Dodgers, and has not allowed a run in six appearances against the Dodgers, allowing only a .179 batting average.
It has seemed like September has been a challenge for the Rockies, but in reality they have the fifth best record in the NL during the month, trailing only the Cubs, who won the NL Central, D-Backs, who are the No. 1 NL Wild-Card seed, the Cardinals, who were eliminated from the post-season on Thursday, and the NL East champion Nationals.
