Hartford, Conn- Four members of the Hartford Yard Goats, the Rockies Class Double-A affiliate, have been selected to the Eastern Division team in the Eastern League’s All-Star Game.
The game will be played July 12.
Right-handed pitchers Yency Almonte and Shane Broyles, infielder Ashley Graeter and outfielder Drew Weeks were selected, according to a release from the Yard Goats.
Almonte, 23, is leading the Yard Goats starting rotation with a 1.96 ERA in nine starts. The Miami, Florida native struck out a franchise-high 10 batters in an April 20 start against Harrisburg.
Broyles, 25, is 2-0 with a 1.80 ERA with 8 saves in 23 relief outings with the Yard Goats. He has converted all eight save opprotunities, allowing six earned runs in 30 innings.
Graeter, 27, leads the Yard Goats in hits and is tied for team lead with seven home runs.
Weeks, 24, has put together a solid first season at the Double-A level and is tied for the team lead with 7 home runs. He is second on the club with 64 hits, 15 doubles, 32 RBI and 9 stolen bases.
