The Rockies have been a prime agitator in a season of disappointment for the Giants. With a 5-2 victory on Saturday they have won nine of 10 games from the Giants, and they claimed the most recent victory without even getting an extra base hit.
The Rockies collected 14 hits — all singles. That’s the second most hits the Rockies have had in a game in which they did not have any extra base hits. It was the 10th time in franchise history that the Rockies had 11 or more hits, and all of them were singles. The Rockies are 5-5 in those games.
Raimel Tapia and Tony Wolters both had two hits. Tapia drew the start in center field, giving Charlie Blackmon a day off. Tapia has earned the playing time. He is hitting .480 his last five starts. Wolters is hitting .370 at Coors Field this year.
