Rockies Hits Create Misses Against Pirates

The successful teams are the ones who can forget the forgettable. The Rockies have shown that ability so far this season. They get another test in the aftermath of a 7-2 loss to the Pirates on Monday night. they scored only two runs despite having 11 hits. That just doesn’t happen often.

The Rockies grounded into a double play three times — D.J. LeMahieu to end the third inning, Charlie Blackmon after a Pat Valaika single to lead off the seventh, and Tony Wolters end the eighth.

It was the 35th time in franchise history that the Rockies had 11 or more hits in a game in which they scored two or fewer runs. They have won only five of those games.
